MATTHEW L. MITTON
“If my client can leave the office feeling that I listened,
cared, provided solutions and gave them ‘peace of mind,’ then I’ve
succeeded.”
Mr. Mitton is a licensed attorney and shareholder with the law firm of Jones Waldo
Holbrook & McDonough, P.C. Prior to joining Jones Waldo, Mr. Mitton and Mr.
Randall Holmgren formed and managed one of the premier estate planning law firms
in Utah. Now and then, Matt has dedicated his legal practice to helping people
ensure that their estate will go to the right people, at the right time, at the
least cost possible. Specializing in the area of estate planning allows Mr. Mitton
to focus his time, energy and attention on his clients. He routinely travels to
homes, businesses and rural Utah to make sure his clients get the highest level
of service and attention they deserve.
As a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning and National Academy
of Elder Law Attorneys, Mr. Mitton has become a recognized author and speaker
focusing his knowledge on helping people understand and apply difficult tax,
trust and elder law issues and solutions. In order to stay on the “leading
edge” of estate and elder law planning, Matt spends hundreds of hours
a year studying, attending conferences and teaching other professionals. Mr.
Mitton’s peers recently recognized his time and effort when they voted
him as a Utah Business Magazine “Legal Elite” in the area of Estates
and Trusts. Matt’s greatest professional satisfaction comes from his volunteer
work in the community. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Planned
Giving Committee for Intermountain Health Care’s Deseret Foundation. He
has served for the Retired Senior and Volunteer Project and gives generously
of his time to those in need who cannot afford estate-planning fees.
