Mr. Haymond joined Jones Waldo in 2006 and is a member of the firm’s Estates
& Trusts Practice Group. He assists with numerous law and tax seminars and
public speaking events that are focused on public education and awareness. Some
of his recent work and research has focused on protecting Family Limited Partnerships
from newly enacted IRS laws.
A member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, Mr. Haymond
is part of a nationwide network of attorneys who share advanced research and
in-depth knowledge of current estate and tax-planning laws and strategies.
Mr. Haymond was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from the University
of Utah in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. At the
S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, he served as senior staff
member for the Journal of Law and Family Studies, where his article detailing
Utah’s new Domestic Asset Protection Trusts was published. He also spent
a semester abroad studying comparative legal procedure at the London Law Consortium
in London, England.
During law school, Mr. Haymond clerked for the law firm of Holmgren & Mitton,
L.C. as well as for the Honorable Judge Frederic Oddone in the Third District
Court. Upon graduation and passing the Utah State Bar in 2004, he was invited
to join the firm of Holmgren & Mitton, L.C. and specialized in Trust Administration
and Probate matters.
Mr. Haymond is a member of the Utah State Bar and Salt Lake County Bar Association.
In his spare time, he serves as Chapter Advisor for the Alpha Tau chapter of
Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Utah, an undergraduate scholarship and service-based
fraternity. He also enjoys attending University of Utah athletic events and
time well spent with family and friends.
